Food Safety & Quality
Safety, security, and quality are our business.
Innovative Fresh Food Distribution
At Ole Tyme Produce, serving people is our priority; keeping your food safe and fresh is our business. Trust and excellence are at the core of who we are, and in upholding these values we guarantee an unwavering commitment to safety, security, and quality.
Through comprehensive, custom processes and the most stringent of inspections we achieve the highest standards in all.
Certifications & Inspections
Ole Tyme Produce has attained Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification, the highest industry certification in food safety, one that requires rigorous procedures and processes that are documented and verified daily.
The Safe Quality Food program is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and is the only food safety program that integrates a quality component as well as strict food safety guidelines. Our entire warehouse facility, food safety plan, and Good Warehouse Practice undergoes annual inspection by NSF Cook & Thurber, a third-party inspection company that specializes in continual improvement of food safety and food defense and serves as the gold standard in auditing and verification.
This annual inspection includes temperature monitoring, sanitation of coolers/trucks/warehouse, pest/insect control, maintenance and repair of equipment, and personnel practices. Ole Tyme has received consecutive excellent scores year after year. From our precise product tracking through the field to consumer cycle, to constant digital monitoring of temperatures within a tenth of a degree, and a process which ensures the cold chain is never broken, Ole Tyme is committed to continue to maintain our food safety and quality record.
Copies of inspection certificates and reports are available for review.
Safety First. Always.
Our Safety Plan
At Ole Tyme we have developed a custom Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plan. This plan analyzes the flow of product through our warehouse and determines the potential chemical, physical, biological, and radiological dangers to products.
Procedures are established to prevent product contamination such as the use of biometric access and daily monitoring. HACCP also involves a recall plan so that product can be retrieved after any government or manufacturing recall is announced. The recall and recovery plan is tested twice a year and copies of this plan are available for review.
We custom designed and built a facility that optimizes safety and preserves the quality of our fresh produce. Read more about our state-of-the-art facility or better yet, come in for a tour!
Our Commitment
Ole Tyme’s commitment to quality, reliability, and sustainability is reflected in our state-of-the-art distribution facility designed specifically for fresh food distribution. With the latest building materials and technologies, we are stewarding the most safe, fresh, and quality products on behalf of our customers.
Our Fleet and Shipping
All orders are shipped on Freightliner Refrigerated Straight Body Trucks; power-washed bi-weekly on the exterior and cleaned daily on the inside. Each driver is CDL licensed and all DOT regulations are strictly adhered.
Drivers examine the trucks and fill out daily inspection sheets, safeguarding the proper operation of all refrigeration and mechanics. All our trucks are fitted with Electronic Logging Devices which continually read metrics including location, route, temperature, and engine/refer diagnostics. This allows us to track exactly when our customer’s delivery will arrive and ensure quality and safety in-transit.
