Dear Ole Tyme Produce Customers:

Asparagus supplies are extremely tight right now. Central Mexico, Baja, and Guanajuato production has slowed down due to heat in the fields. Peru’s volume continues to drop due to weather but should pick up in 2-3 weeks when new fields open in ICA. Peruvian fields are down as much as 40% year over year due to the weather conditions hampering production. Domestic supplies are mostly finished this week.

Expectations:

The Asparagus market will be volatile in the next couple of weeks.
May need to sub-sizing to fulfill orders.
