Crownless Pineapple
Crownless Pineapple
Fri, May 2nd, 2025
Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
Costa Rican shippers are facing tight supplies and high demand for crownless pineapples.
- Crownless pineapples are in short supply due to labor, sizing needs, and shipping delays.
- Weather issues have impacted fruit development, especially larger sizes.
- European demand is drawing volume away from the U.S. market.
- Pineapples take 18 months to grow, limiting short-term supply solutions.
What to Expect:
- Prices are rising and changing daily.
- Contracts are prioritized; no new ones are being accepted for now.
- Substitution with crowned pineapples may be necessary.
- Mexican pineapples are a possible alternative.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Sales Representative.
Thanks,
