Dear Ole Tyme Produce Customers:
STRAWBERRIES:
- Salinas /Watsonville: There are still strong supplies harvested daily in both areas. It is a good time to request promotional pricing. These numbers will continue to peak through mid-July Quality and sizing are very good due to ideal growing conditions over the last several weeks.
- Santa Maria:. Numbers continue to slowly decline due to a downward crop cycle. The season should be over for this area in the next few weeks.
- BLUEBERRIES: Oregon production has begun as of last Monday. Yields are low but will begin to ramp up as we move into July. New Jersey’s season has begun and will ramp up over the next few weeks Michigan will begin in the next week or two.
- BLACKBERRIES: Central Mexico will hit another peak this week bringing on more fruit. Watsonville production has been slowly building up with last week’s higher temperatures helping to bring on numbers. We still have Georgia fruit being offered as well.
- RASPBERRIES: There is an uptick in production coming out of the West Coast Watsonville area after this week’s warmer temperatures. We are still seeing good amounts coming into the U.S. from Central Mexico and Baja.
