Community
Unwavering in our commitment
Community is the Heart
A community is where people gather, whether it's a customer restaurant, a charitable food distribution, or a place of belonging like Ole Tyme. It is one of our core values demonstrated day-to-day. It is present from supporting our internal community and our local farm economy, to giving our time, energy, and resources to those in times of difficulty. We are unwavering in our commitment to community.
Each year we strive to fulfill our corporate responsibility for our team and community. Ole Tyme Produce is involved with a number of charity organizations, including Operation Food Search, NAACP, church organization(s), and much more. During COVID-19, we were honored to provide approximately $375,000 worth of food to those in need.
"We will always have a hand in the community and assist in feeding people in our community. It should be everyone's number one concern. It certainly is to us." - Joan Daleo
Operation Food Search Feast for Change
Ole Tyme Produce is a proud sponsor of Operation Food Search's Annual Feast for Change event. Each month Operation Food Search provides food and services to approximately 200,000 individuals in our community and surrounding areas. They work diligently to heal hunger through the provision of food and services, innovative programs, resources, and education. This event seeks to raise funds and awareness to support their efforts in creating a hunger-free future.
K-12 School Foodservice Forum
This year's International Fresh Produce Association's Foodservice Conference brought together parties from across our nation's foodservice industry to participate in discussion and presentations aiming to increase the use of fresh produce throughout the foodservice sector. This year's conference featured a K-12 School Foodservice Forum to focus on the role of these specific leaders in bringing fresh produce to school menus. Ole Tyme Produce's sponsorship aided in allowing IFPA to host these school menu planners and leaders in order to gain and contribute valuable insight into the distribution of fresh produce throughout our childrens' schools.
